About Tanami
Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. Newmont is currently investing in the second expansion of Tanami, constructing a 1.5 km deep production shaft. The Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) project is expected to increase average annual gold production by approximately 150,000 to 200,000 ounces per year to 600,000 ounces per year for the first five years and reduce operating costs by approximately 10 percent. Commercial production for the project is expected to begin in 2027.
A fully equipped camp is located on-site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Who we're looking for
We are currently recruiting for a Manager Process Operations who will report directly into the Tanami General Manager. We are offering this role on an 8:6 / 8:6 / 4:3 roster (semi-flexible) with FIFO available from Darwin, Alice Springs, Brisbane or Perth.
The Manager Process Operations will manage the reliable operation of the processing and tailings storage operations at Tanami, through the preparation and implementation of optimised mining operational plans, ensuring safety, productivity and an inclusive workforce. You will also oversee brownfield installation, commissioning and optimisation of new plant equipment and the refurbishment of entire processing plant; as required to meet the objectives of the TE2 Project.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead processing operations according to the operational plan, ensuring safety, cost, production, sustainability and schedule are prioritized and delivered against. Identify and diagnose operational, technical and safety challenges and initiate plans to manage them. Conduct risk assessments, develop management systems to manage identified risk and verify the associated actions are being completed.
* Act as a leader, coach and mentor in all areas of technical processing expertise, safety, people leadership, and expected behaviours. Build current and future capability through training, talent management and development pathways.
* Align the strategic vision of the site into actionable processing operational plans that deliver safe, socially responsible and optimized production. Ensure clarity of the plan. Ensure integration of the plan with mining and technical services.
* Identify and develop plans for continuous improvement for optimum performance in processing - actively seek to ensure opportunities for meaningful improvement are implemented, and best practices put in place. Apply both new technologies and standard methodologies in processing to enhance operational efficiency and delivery.
* Interface with other department heads and functions to ensure appropriate support and service is delivered to processing.
* Monitor all key performance indicators, including safety, community, environment, production and operational costs, reporting on all key metrics, risks, and corrective measures. Manage the overall operational budget.
As a member of Tanami's strategic leadership team acting as Deputy Site GM (as required), you will be a vibrant people leader, with the ability to nurture a team culture of individual development and empowerment. You will also demonstrate capability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels, in order to influence outcomes in a highly collaborative manner.
You will also possess the following:
* A bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Processing, or similar related discipline. Advanced degrees (e.g., Master's or PhD) would be advantageous, but not essential.
* Several years of experience in leading processing operations and developing teams, with a progression through roles of increasing responsibility.
* High level expertise of metallurgical processing methods, techniques and equipment, with proven success with optimisation of processing efficiencies and ability to identify improvements for implementation.
* Demonstrated ability to interact, influence and resolve conflict with various stakeholders, including employees, contractors, regulators, and the community.
* Advanced understanding of health, safety, environment and sustainability regulations and practices.
* Competent understanding of cost management and financial principles in processing.
