Reporting to the Manager, Health Services – Home Care, the Resource Coordinator is responsible for supervising and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of personal care and home support services to Home Care Clients. The Resource Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of Home Care Attendants (HCA), Home Support Workers (HSW) and Supportive Housing Companions (SHC).
The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Qualifications
1. Recognized post-secondary diploma or degree in a Health-related field or Human Resource Management
2. Combination of education and work experience may be considered
3. Working knowledge of Home Care systems and programs
4. Working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
5. Working knowledge of Collective Agreements
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and Outlook
7. Working knowledge in the usage of office equipment
8. Minimum one (1) year experience as a Resource Coordinator
9. Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience in a unionized environment
10. Minimum one (1) year experience with electronic employee/client scheduling applications
11. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a health care environment
12. Minimum one (1) year experience with electronic employee/client scheduling applications
13. Demonstrated ability to schedule staff/clients in a computerized scheduling system
14. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
15. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
16. Demonstrated ability to function and make decisions independently
17. Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to solve problems
18. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and well-organized
19. Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimum supervision and as a team member
