Head of Access and External Engagement (f/m/d)Full-timeRegion: EU+/CanadaDepartment: CommercialFor our office in Vienna (hybrid working model) we are recruiting for a Head of Access and External Engagement (f/m/d).About This Role:The Head of Access and External Engagement (f/m/d) is a crucial member of the Affiliate Leadership Team and has primary responsibility for planning and managing market access and pricing activities for in-line and launch products for the Affiliate market. This includes development of reimbursement/value dossiers, development/implementation of economic budget impact models, management of regular reference pricing reviews, as well as development of pricing models and business cases for internal and/or external partners. The incumbent will be responsible for patient access to Biogen current and future products in the country and will build key relationships with all relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the Head of Access and External Engagement (f/m/d) is responsible for Corporate PR and to drive attention to the unmet medical need in the pre-marketing phase in the respective indications covered by Biogen.What You’ll Do:Strategic direction:Critically assess drivers and barriers to pricing, reimbursement, and market access.Develop comprehensive strategy and activity plans for Market Access for the affiliate securing fast and sustainable access to therapies for patients.Develop core deliverables in cooperation with global/international staff (e.g., reimbursement dossiers, health economic evaluations/value dossiers, budget impact models) to generate country-specific data.Plan and ensure implementation of value dossiers adapted for the Affiliate market (i.e., health insurances, hospitals).Effectively manage pricing strategy for Hospitals and other key stakeholders.Ensure continuous internal education on health politics, health economics, pricing, and value of drug therapy.Design and execute Market Access programs to increase Market Access capabilities in the Country with a cross-functional approach.KME management and member of PHARMIG working groups:Stakeholder management & engagement.Governmental Affairs platform.Healthcare Economy platform.Preparation of supportive educational activities for hospitals, sick funds, PAGs.Present Governmental Affairs, Public Affairs, and Market Access activities internally and externally at the business and budget reviews, local ABs, and round tables.Develop and leverage strong internal and external business relationships to enhance both brand advocacy and Biogen’s image in the therapeutic area.Work collaboratively and in total alignment with Medical, Sales, and Marketing in clearly defining the overall company strategy and successfully executing the company operational plan.Corporate PR and Public Relations:Increase awareness about BIIB.Increase awareness about rare diseases, MS, SMA, and other diseases related to the Biogen portfolio.Lead PR initiatives to sustain BIIB image and build partnerships with key stakeholders.Promote the company image and/or product awareness by utilizing all tools to maximize revenues.Building a high-performing organization:Lead the local team providing strategic direction to maximize business return.Develop talent within the country team to ensure effective succession planning and career development to meet current and future demands.Drive organizational development and changes in line with business growth.Lead and motivate the organization to maintain a professional approach.Assign work effectively, with appropriate dialogue regarding context, specific accountabilities, goals, milestones, and resources.Influence and inspire teams to perform at their best.Develop and nurture a team-oriented culture.Provide coaching feedback and advice that is separate from tactical support.Prepare and present effective performance reviews including goal setting, ongoing conversation, and year-end appraisal.Ensure all team members are fully aligned and comply with Biogen regulations and local laws.Ensure compliance within the team with Biogen code of business conduct.Who You Are:You are a strategic thinker with a passion for improving patient access to vital treatments. You are committed to making a real-world impact.Qualifications:University Degree in economics or sciences.Fluent in the local language and fluent command of the English language.7+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical contexts, in market access specialty areas, or similar.Track record of successful reimbursement negotiations for biopharmaceutical products with local reimbursement authorities.Expertise in the field of outcomes research, epidemiology, or health economics studies.People Management experience.Minimum annual gross salary of 75,000.00 €, depending on qualification and experience, with a willingness to overpay.Why Biogen?We are a global team with a commitment to excellence and a pioneering spirit.
