AFL Dining Room Restaurant Manager - MCG
Delaware North Australia is a global hospitality and entertainment company with significant operations in Australia for more than 30 years.
Our latest venture as the hospitality caterer at the iconic MCG has been nothing short of amazing. With a capacity of more than 100,000, the MCG is the largest sporting stadium in the Southern Hemisphere. It hosts several Australian Football League (AFL) teams, as well as cricket matches, concerts, other special events and non-event-day functions.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Function Manager to lead our prestigious AFL Dining Room, open to AFL members at the MCG. Your remit will be to oversee a diverse casual team to service excellence through feedback, support and training, while guaranteeing an exceptional experience to the member-based guests.
About the space:
* AFL Dining room is situated on Level 2 in the Shane Warne Stand and serves AFL Members.
* Service varies between function (up to 450 pax) and buffet (up to 160 pax), with 2 bars in the room, serving pre, during and post-match.
* The room offers views across the MCG ground and the city.
The following skills will be highly regarded:
* Previous experience with member-based clientele or VIPs highly regarded.
* A commitment to service excellence.
* Demonstrated experience as a leader where you can remedy performance issues and ensure support and high levels of staff engagement.
* The ability to motivate and empower a team to service excellence.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
* High level organisation and time management skills.
* The ability to think on your feet and forward plan.
Skills highly regarded, but not essential:
* Experience using the POS system, SwiftPOS.
* Experience using the rostering system, Humanforce.
Availability:
* Full commitment for match days, throughout the 2025 AFL season, including weekends, Friday nights and periodic Thursday nights and public holiday matches.
* Occasional set up shifts in the lead up to blockbuster games.
* Potential for ongoing shifts outside the AFL season.
