About the role
Reporting to the Product Manager, this full-time Purchasing Manager role at Bainbridge offers an exciting opportunity to lead the purchasing function of a progressive, dynamic family business. As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, components and products to support the company's production and customer needs.
What you'll be doing
1. Manage all orders from Australian and Overseas suppliers
2. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best value for the business
3. Implement and maintain efficient purchasing processes and procedures.
4. Raise Domestic/International purchase orders, ensuring manufacturing and shipment lead times meet sales demands.
5. Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure delivery, quality and cost targets are met
6. Conduct market research and analysis to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost savings
7. Prepare purchasing reports and provide recommendations to senior management
8. Recruit your own purchasing team
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement management role. Merchandise Pet or Rural highly regarded
2. Proven track record of delivering cost savings and managing supplier relationships
3. Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
5. Intermediate to Advanced Excel. Experience with MYOB EXO advantageous but not essential
6. Proficient in the use of purchasing and inventory management systems
7. Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline (Not essential)
