We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Controller to join our Finance team, taking full ownership of our Austrian operations in Salzburg. This role reports to the EMEA Finance Director and is responsible for overseeing all US GAAP and Austrian GAAP statutory accounting and reporting activities for the entity.
In addition to financial reporting, this role is instrumental in business partnering and stakeholder management, collaborating closely with R&D, procurement, accounts payable, the USA corporate team, and the broader Molecular Devices European operations.
The role is office based and open to locations Salzburg, Austria or Wokingham, UK.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
1. Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with Austrian GAAP (UGB) and US GAAP, and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
2. Act as the main point of contact for local external partners, auditors, and regulatory authorities, handling audit requests and collaborating with cross functional teams.
3. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate posting of journal entries and adjustments.
4. Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reporting schedules per US GAAP requirements for submission to the corporate team in the USA.
5. Ensure compliance with Austrian accounting standards (UGB) and IFRS/GAAP, and oversee accurate tax filings, including VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding taxes.
