We're seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Network and Unified Communications to lead the delivery of high quality network and unified communications (UC) solutions. This role is integral to supporting team objectives and CEWA's Strategic Directions, ensuring practical and reliable outcomes for internal teams and external stakeholders, including schools, vendors, and service providers. You'll be responsible for delivering innovative, customer focused solutions that enhance connectivity and collaboration across the organisation.
This is a full time ongoing role based in our West Leederville office.

About the role
* Providing senior level technical expertise and strategic direction within the context of networking and UC technologies.
* Establishing a Networking Centre of Excellence.
* Undertaking a network review of the CEWA environment and make recommendations for short, medium and long-term strategy and solutions.
* Evaluating fit for purpose and commercially viable collaboration and telephony options for CEWA, ensuring they align with the CECWA Strategic Directions.
* Responsible for framing and running of Proof of Concepts.
* Designing and implementing solutions that provide CEWA a more reliable, secure and resilient network.
* Developing a technology roadmap with all CEWA stakeholders to align technology to accomplish CECWA Strategic Directions.
* Proactively monitor and advise on data centre infrastructure and networking.
* Investigating and identifying analytical and problem-solving activities for the maintenance and support of a large and complex network environment.
* Reviewing and advising on incident reviews and statistical reports.
Key Skills and Experience
* Commitment to the objectives and ethos of Catholic education.
* Relevant qualification and / or demonstrated senior level experience having worked in a similar strategic and technical networking and unified communications position.
* An agile leader with demonstrated experience in building a network function from the ground up.
* Experience in cloud-based networking technologies and architecture.
* Knowledgeable in network security tools, tests and best practices and staying abreast of market conditions and changes, including product maps and how to apply this in the context of CEWA.
* Demonstrated experience in technology solution designs (compute, storage & backup) in a large and complex environment. This includes experience working within a Microsoft infrastructure domain with enterprise authentication mechanisms and messaging environments.
* Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience of contemporary frameworks and technologies, including but not limited to: MPLS, Software Defined WAN, IP Telephony, LAN and Wireless LAN, OSI model, TCP/IP protocol, Azure Virtual Network Appliances and Network Security.
* Consultative approach with excellent written, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and experience in collaborating and influencing stakeholders.
* Excellent problem solving skills of moderate to high complexity through analysis, synthesis of potential solutions and test/deployment of technical solutions.
