Senior Project Manager for Electrical Ground Systems (M/W/D)

For our Vienna office, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our innovative Space team.
As part of the Electrical Ground Systems Center of Excellence, the Senior Project Manager (SPM) will support the core business across one or multiple application areas, being accountable for the state of art project governance/controls implementation and continuous refinement, planning, execution, and delivery of customer programs/projects within the Terma Space Business Area.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for leading teams to deliver programs/projects that span across one or more application areas.
* Define projects scope, goals and objectives, create work plans and timelines, monitor and report progress against targets.
* Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to quality and guidelines throughout the project/program life cycle. This includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
* Have the authority to run the program/projects on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case or management plan.
* Have full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives/projects simultaneously.
* Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives.
* Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
* Provide support in the tender process.
* Manage subcontractors, manage and report program/projects risks, issues and results to senior management.
* Liaise with relevant departments (Delivery, Supply Chain, Quality, Program Excellence, etc.) and other internal and external stakeholders.
* Evaluate project performance and take corrective measures in case of deviations from the target.
* Ensure that project execution is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
* Drive adoption of Terma and Program Excellence Processes and Tools.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully complete their tasks.
Qualification:
* Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field. PM certification beneficial.
* Experience:
o Demonstrated experience in project management, ideally within the space sector or a related high-tech industry.
o Knowledge in ground support equipment is beneficial.
o Knowledge in flight hardware is beneficial.
o Knowhow of ESA’s standards is preferred.
o Familiarity with ESA missions and their processes is a strong plus.
