Overview:
The Paper Technical Services Manager effectively manages the Paper Technical Department to achieve timely, cost-effective, maximum technical competence in all paper process and product areas. This position provides leadership in all paper mill technical, LSS and quality functions. The leadership provided includes maximizing safety performance, process optimization, improved product quality and product development, and process engineer development. The Paper Technical Services Manager has the responsibility for overseeing the variable cost usage budget improvement for the mill, through management of grade formulae, raw materials selection and optimization, Lean manufacturing activities and frequent review of actual performance against budget. This position provides leadership and direction in solving manufacturing problems and proactively looking for potential solutions. This is accomplished by managing Technical Department activities to ensure optimization of plant chemical process, plant product conformance to specifications, product development and improvement with the goal of satisfying customer needs, both internal and external.
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pulp and Paper or equivalent.
* Minimum of 10 years experience in Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Equipment and Processes.
* 3-5 years industrial experience including proven project management and process design.
* Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
