Business Development Manager - Scientific Sales

The Role:
We are looking for an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager with a proven track record of sales and business development in supporting and servicing the public and private sectors, including but not limited to:
1. Hospitals and healthcare facilities
2. Universities and school-based laboratories
3. Research facilities
4. Pharmaceutical and specialist manufacturing laboratories
Current sales experience in calling on key laboratory managers and procurement leaders in the greater Brisbane area, QLD and northern NSW will be prioritised for this role. An ability to lead by example, communicate effectively and demonstrate drive and initiative is a must-have for this role.
You will be responsible for:
1. Calling on existing customer accounts and introducing new customers to our business with a focus on further building and developing relationships.
2. Managing sales leads and opportunities to increase company and brand awareness in the marketplace.
3. Ensuring the constant development of your technical product knowledge by working with the Sales/Product Manager.
4. Working with internal stakeholders in the following departments: Marketing, Procurement, Accounts, Service.
5. Responsible for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
About you:
1. Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g. biology, chemistry, medicine) or equivalent experience.
2. Scientific and laboratory equipment knowledge is preferred but not essential.
3. Proven experience in a technical sales role.
4. Outgoing person with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Curious to learn the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of our products and not afraid to ask questions.
6. Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
7. Someone with a proactive nature, with a sense of urgency and initiative.

Excellent remuneration package includes base salary, commission, mobile phone, laptop, and the option of either a motor vehicle allowance or company vehicle.
