About the job
The Adelaide Production and Treatment Alliance is a partnership between SA Water and SUEZ and is responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater pumping assets delivering services to the Adelaide Metropolitan region.
Working in partnership as one brand and one team, the Adelaide Production & Treatment Alliance (P&T Alliance) will enable a safe and engaged workforce to meet SA Water’s customer service targets and regulated responsibilities at the lowest sustainable cost for Adelaide customers. With improved integration and collaboration, the P&T Alliance team combines expertise from SUEZ and SA Water under a shared responsibility structure to ensure delivery of the trusted water services our community needs now and into the future.
In this leadership role within our Alliance partnership, you will be responsible for managing a diverse team, including supervisors, technicians, and maintenance staff, while driving a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will play a key role in fostering high performance, mentoring and developing staff, and optimising team productivity and engagement.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
* Lead and inspire a team, ensuring effective performance management and professional growth.
* Drive operational excellence, optimising water treatment plant performance and ensuring compliance with water quality, safety, and environmental standards.
* Manage the maintenance of water treatment plants and associated assets, ensuring cost-effective and reliable delivery of services.
* Foster strong relationships with SA Water and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and collaborative success.
* Champion a culture of diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement within your team.
Your success in this role will come from:
* A relevant qualification in an operational discipline (e.g., Engineering, Operations Management, Environmental Science) is highly desirable.
* Proven leadership in a water or industrial operations environment, with a focus on managing and developing teams to achieve maximum performance.
* Strong understanding of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
* Strong business management skills, including budget oversight, financial forecasting, and cost-effective decision-making.
* Experience in handling industrial relations matters and ensuring compliance with enterprise agreements.
* Demonstrated ability to develop teams and drive performance.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* A current unrestricted driver’s license is required.
