Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Finance Director - Asia Pacific
Apex Group is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) of APAC with exceptional commercial acumen, organizational skills, governance expertise, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with senior leaders in the region & globally.
This role requires a strong ability to prioritize, understand revenue metrics and country-level performance & achievements. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills to interpret data and performance indicators, providing valuable insights into the region's overall performance.
As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of APAC, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing operations across multiple geographic locations and a diverse client base, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals. You will work closely and report to the Regional Head of Asia Pacific to manage and drive growth across the region.
The role duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Supporting Regional Head & Teams:
* Strategy development and achievement of approved annual plans of the APAC region in alignment with global objectives.
* Assist with country and entity-level strategy planning aligned with regional goals.
* Support and maintain key external- internal and board-level governance relationships.
* Offer M&A support and advisory services.
Strategy, Planning and Commercial Acumen:
* Drive revenue growth and business synergies across geographies and products.
* Develop and approve business cases.
* Prioritize opportunities effectively.
Disciplined Implementation and Managing Relationships:
* Coordinate and support teams to ensure effective implementation of priorities.
* Lead an efficient program office to oversee initiatives.
* Foster a common sense of purpose, ownership, and engagement across teams.
* Collaborate with country leadership teams, global product teams, functional teams, and other regional leaders.
* Develop strong relationships with key external clients, partners, and suppliers.
Ideal background and exposure:
Commercial acumen at a CFO level, or as a finance director or equivalent exposure within a sizeable firm in financial services space.
* Extensive experience in implementing major transformation programs at a “Programme Office” scale.
* Proven ability to influence strategy at Board and Senior Executive levels.
* Strong track record of building and managing relationships at a Senior Leadership level.
* Demonstrated success in establishing and scaling businesses effectively.
* Technical proficiency in strategic planning, annual planning, and related documentation.
* A solid understanding of the importance of culture, personal leadership, and alignment with global objectives, critical for achieving success.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Finance, Compliance, Treasury, Legal, Marketing, CRM, Risk, HR, CoSec, and Board roles and responsibilities is a plus.
* Advanced decision-making skills with extensive experience in high-stakes environments.
Extensive experience with Excel would be highly advantageous, as the role involves analysing, reviewing, and presenting large volumes of data using both Excel and PowerPoint.
