About the Role
The Manager Circular Economy and Waste works with industry, government, and the community to identify and implement reform within the waste management and resource recovery sector in an integrated, systematic, and cost-effective manner. The Manager manages the environmental risks from waste management and resource recovery and contributes to the success and sustainability of the circular economy in South Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develops the EPA’s strategy for implementing circular economy and waste management reform and coordinates and directs the EPA’s waste management and resource recovery programs.
* Provides authoritative, expert waste management and resource recovery advice to the EPA, government, industry, and the public.
* Is the lead advisor of the Environment Protection Act 1993 and associated legislation and standards as they relate to waste management, resource recovery, and ultimately the achievement of a sustainable and circular economy.

The organisation works to protect, restore, and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise, and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community, and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

Desirable Qualification
Degree in science, engineering, or relevant discipline (Essential for PO stream classification).
Remuneration
MAS3 ($127,859 per annum) or PO5 ($124,449- $130,253 per annum) + 11.5% super added to your choice of super fund.
