TRYP by Wyndham Southport Gold Coast – New Hotel Opening

Imagine this: a brand new hotel boasting a captivating restaurant and bar, state-of-the-art meeting facilities, and the pièce de résistance – a breathtaking infinity rooftop pool offering stunning views!
The Role:
As our Night Manager, you'll take charge of the hotel's overnight operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. Your role is pivotal in providing guests with a warm, personalised welcome while safeguarding their security and that of our team and property. You'll also play a key role in managing the hotel's financial transactions, crafting reports, and ensuring rigorous auditing standards are met throughout the night shift.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
1. Lead nightly operations, addressing guest and staff issues promptly and effectively as the Manager on Duty, including overseeing guest check-ins and check-outs to ensure seamless service delivery.
2. Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills and decisive action to maintain hotel integrity and ensure guest and staff satisfaction.
3. Execute computer tasks related to night audit operations, such as posting room charges, maintaining data backups, and preparing and distributing relevant reports while keeping accurate hotel statistics.
4. Cultivate strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaborative relationships across all hotel departments.
5. Perform thorough daily audits of revenue and transactions, ensuring accurate reporting by making necessary adjustments.
6. Manage departure paperwork, including credit card charges, for submission to the Accounts department.
7. Maintain strong working relationships with all departments to support operations and goals, and expedite the resolution of any issues that arise during the general operation of the hotel at night.
8. Ensure the security of the hotel each evening by conducting regular checks, locking necessary areas, and coordinating with security staff to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
Now, who are we looking for?
1. 2-3 years’ experience as a Night Manager in a 4-5 star environment
2. Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management (desirable)
3. Experience with hotel booking systems – preferably Opera
4. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
5. Commitment with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
6. Excellent communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
7. Impeccable grooming and presentation standards
8. Experience in training staff - service delivery, service recovery and motivating upselling items across all areas
9. First Aid Certificate, RSA and Australian working rights
