Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Scientific Software Engineer (f/m/d) to support in the design, development, and optimization of a mechanical simulation application and its tools and APIs.
This application helps R&D mechanical engineers perform complex calculations to ensure the safety and reliability of cranes and access platforms.
The application acts as a central data hub, benefiting internal teams like engineering and external customers through integrated APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and a consistent user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development and enhancement of program features for our C#/.NET application in collaboration with senior developers and mechanical engineers.
* Implementation of unit tests and participation in code reviews to ensure high code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
* Research and application of efficient calculation algorithms for numerical problems in structural and mechanical engineering under guidance.
* Supporting refactoring efforts to improve modularity, performance, and maintainability of our solutions.
* Active participation in a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and skill development within an agile environment.
Requirements:
* Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, or a related field, with a basic understanding of mechanical or structural engineering principles.
* Experience or strong academic background in developing and testing software applications, preferably in engineering or scientific domains.
* Hands-on experience with C#/.NET development; familiarity with unit testing frameworks and best practices for code quality.
* Eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Fluent German and English skills.
