Join our innovative R&D team as Laboratory Technician specializing in Cell Biology within Animal Nutrition & Health. You will be an integral part of the laboratory organization and our cutting-edge research on the animal gastrointestinal tract. Your expertise in basic cell culture will be crucial, any experience with immunoassays and 2D/3D cell-based assays is a plus.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the whole cell biology laboratories, including lab & equipment maintenance, media preparation, cell culture maintenance, and knowledge of laboratory safety protocols, including hazardous materials and biological waste.
* Perform routine cell culture techniques (2D, 3D), including primary cell isolation from blood and other tissues of animal origin.
* Execute experiments related to cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemical assays (e.g. ELISA, cytotoxicity assays).
* Provide assistance to researchers in planning and preparing for experiments.
* Conduct regular visits to slaughterhouses and feeding trial facilities (e.g. cattle, pigs, poultry...) for the collection and processing of samples.
* Strong interest in emerging lab technologies and methodologies, strong communication skills and organizing talent to ensure optimal performance of our laboratories.

Salary Information
We offer you an income based on your qualifications and market conditions, with a minimum annual gross salary of €35.000 on fulltime basis (38.5 hours / week).
You Bring
* Completed apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician or a higher vocational school in natural science (e.g. HBLVA Rosensteingasse, HLUW Yspertal, HTLLT Hollabrunn, Josephinum, or similar).
* Experience in cell biology, including sterile techniques, cell culture, and media preparation, is essential.
* Willingness to visit slaughterhouses and participate in feeding trials, ensuring to collect tissue samples necessary for your experiments and ensure the proper handling, storage, and transportation of biological samples to the laboratory, maintaining integrity and compliance with relevant protocol.
* Strong organizational skills to effectively oversee the cell Biology laboratories, ensuring smooth operations and efficient workflow management.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with diverse teams, including proficiency in German and English (written and verbal) is required.
* A strong motivation to acquire new skills and think creatively, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Proactive, curious, and deeply passionate about scientific discovery.
