The Interdisciplinary Centre for Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity (I.C.E.B.) is a newly established research center at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS), dedicated to advancing the understanding of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Our mission is to measure and analyze the interactions between society and ecosystems through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research. By providing evidence-based insights, we support decisions that foster sustainable development.
Job profile and tasks
As a Strategic Project Developer, you will play a key role in developing interdisciplinary projects focused on biodiversity, collaborating with partners to design impactful project proposals, and leveraging and advancing the shared R&D infrastructure of the I.C.E.B.
1. Supporting the development of research projects and initiatives of the center’s departments and teams.
2. Advancing the center’s R&D infrastructure through project-based initiatives.
3. Managing the center’s knowledge balance, including tracking publications, project volumes, and research capacities.
4. Representing the I.C.E.B. in relevant committees, forums, and events.
Required competencies and qualifications
Skillful and experienced researcher with a proven ability to develop complex and demanding project designs. Visionary in applied research, excelling in consortia and diverse project partnerships. A master's in natural sciences with excellent results. Research experience with a focus on biodiversity or biodiversity technologies is desirable. At least 5 years of professional experience, ideally in an academic research or company setting (e.g., planning, research, or consulting). Proven ability to develop complex international and interdisciplinary projects, including planning of human resources and finances as well as excellent English skills. Highly team-oriented with a precise, reliable work ethic and the ability to inspire project partners, funding bodies, and stakeholders.

Scope of employment: 20 - 40 hours per week
Contract duration: Long-term development opportunity, initially limited to one year.
Place of employment: Campus Villach, Europastrasse 4, 9524 Villach
A 50%-100% position with flexible working hours.
Minimum salary: € 3,790 gross per month (for 100% employment).
