You’ll provide a centre of expertise, technical support and advice to planners, designers, constructors and operators as well as set our standards. This includes 11.5% standard employer contribution, plus an additional 2% employer co-contribution that matches your own 2% contribution.Purchase additional leave of up to 12 weeks or work 4 years at a reduced salary and take the fifth year off as paid leaveDiscover more benefits we offer to support the unique and individual ways our employees live.What the role will involvePlan and manage the development and delivery of complex designs and reports for the solution of engineering problems using in-house or external resourcesPrepare briefs for engagement of consultants; evaluate consultant proposals and makes recommendationsManage the planning, definition and design of projects by consultants and review outputs and performance for conformity to appropriate design criteria, client requirements and to agreed time and costManage the preparation of tender documents and undertake tender analysisDeliver engineering designs or mechanical engineering advice for the solution of engineering problems using in-house or external resourcesProvide advice to and liaise with internal customers, external suppliers, service agencies, consultants, industry regulators and agencies in relation to infrastructure designContribute to the development and maintenance of mechanical engineering standards and product specificationsKey skills and experienceYou’ll have a degree level qualification in mechanical engineering, along with experience in relation to design and management of delivery of infrastructure assets. You’ll also have experience in the preparation of detailed designs and review of technical reports and tender specifications for significant pumping system and/or valve complexes. Your demonstrated leadership, and ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence both senior internal and external stakeholders will ensure success in this role.
