Job Description
1. To provide clean, hygienic, comfortable, and hazard-free areas in the hotel, thereby achieving maximum guest satisfaction and organizational profitability, and impeccable housekeeping standards in all areas of the hotel, as per organizational standards.
2. Responsible for usage of all departmental master keys and other keys to ensure safety and security for guests and hotel property.
3. Ensure that standards of cleanliness in assigned guest rooms are achieved and maintained consistently to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction in cleanliness and service.
4. Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and co-workers at all times.
5. Responsible for cleaning the room, public areas, Executive Office, etc., and other duties as assigned.
6. Any matter which may affect the interests of Novotel Kolkata Hotel & Residences should be brought to the attention of Management.
7. Inspect room linen before placing it in rooms and return below-standard pieces to the respective person in Housekeeping.
8. Report to work on time and according to the posted schedule.
9. Daily change soiled linens on beds and remake beds.
10. Strictly follow lost and found procedures.
11. Ensure floor pantries, corridors, and fire exits are maintained as per the standards.
12. Responsible for equipping all rooms with linen and amenities in the guest rooms as per standards.
13. No articles should ever be removed from occupied rooms. Absolute respect for guests’ property should always be exercised.
14. Report to the Housekeeping Supervisor any blankets, bed spreads, etc., that require changing.
15. Report any assigned rooms that do not require service (e.g., “Do not Disturb” signs) to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
16. Report malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor and ensure they are attended to.
17. Handle the Housekeeping desk efficiently by coordinating with concerned persons and constant follow-up, acting as an information and transmission center for all communications within and outside the department.
18. Ensure all messages are handled with utmost importance and action taken.
19. Ensure all guest messages and queries are handled promptly.
20. Ensure all issues and receipts of keys are accounted for and acknowledged.
21. Ensure all registers and records are updated.
22. Abide by the mission statement of the hotel and the department.
23. Take responsibility for master keys of the assigned rooms.
24. Report any loss or damage to the supervisor.
25. Perform the following duties in the Public Area:
1. Dust furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
2. Vacuum the carpet.
3. Scrub, wash, and clean the floor.
4. Clean and arrange the equipment and furniture as prescribed.
5. Dust and clean light fittings.
