About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Plant Maintenance Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and compliance of our fleet of tools, utes, and trucks. This pivotal role involves utilizing asset management systems to ensure smooth tracking and reporting, managing repairs and breakdowns, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will also be responsible for ordering and storing PPE and consumables for all teams, ensuring their availability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Asset Management: Supervise the upkeep and availability of our fleet of vehicles and tools, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
* Tracking & Reporting: Use internal systems such as Traffio and Actiond to track assets, schedule maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
* Repairs & Maintenance: Manage breakdowns, coordinate repairs, and schedule regular servicing, including drop-off and collection from service centers.
* Compliance & Safety: Facilitate test & tag, calibrations, certifications, and inspections to ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements. Manage annual truck inspections with the Department of Transport.
* Fleet Coordination: Handle vehicle incidents, insurance claims, and service coordination.
* PPE & Consumables Management: Order, store, and distribute PPE and consumables, ensuring availability and adherence to safety standards.
* Supplier & Vendor Liaison: Work with external service providers, repairers, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions.
* Process Improvement: Regularly assess and enhance asset management systems and processes.
* Fleet Reliability: Implement preventive maintenance programs to improve fleet reliability.
* Innovation: Stay current with new industry technologies and best practices.
* Yard Management: Oversee the organization and upkeep of the yard and shed, performing regular inspections to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in asset management, fleet coordination, or a similar role in the vacuum truck or related industry.
* Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Outlook, and asset management systems (Traffio & Actiond preferred). Training will be provided for internal systems.
* Strong understanding of safety and compliance regulations, including test & tag, calibrations, and certifications (training available for the right candidate).
* Knowledge of trucks, cars, construction tools, hydraulic, electrical, and vacuum systems is an advantage.
* Experience in PPE and consumables management is preferred.
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external vendors.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
* Certifications, including a HR truck license and General Industry Induction Card, are essential.
* A mechanical trade qualification or extensive hands-on experience is preferred but not required.
* IT and systems proficiency is crucial; some aspects of the role can be taught to the right candidate.
