ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Service Business Development Manager is responsible for positioning Hach Pacific Service for synergistic and sustainable growth, working on a strategic and tactical level to develop a strong prospect base, and to promote and provide cooperation between various sales channels to meet or exceed all service targets.
What You'll Be Doing (Job Responsibilities)
1. Achieve sales goals aligned with company objectives. Participate in sales activities including customer visits, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations, customer and channel seminars, and close opportunities by participating in formal proposals, invitations to bid and supply contracts.
2. Develop relationships with key accounts, channel partners, and new customers to identify business opportunities and expand market share.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and drive service delivery completion. Collaborate actively with internal teams and other Hach sales channels to identify opportunities and tailor Hach Service solutions to meet customer needs.
4. Stay informed on Voice of Customer, industry trends, competitive activities, and business opportunities to drive new Service product offerings and growth strategies.
5. Manage account performance using KPIs and implement strategies to achieve growth targets. Develop and regularly update sales and account plans to achieve assigned targets through customer engagement, Value Selling, and funnel management.
6. Train internal teams and customers to ensure the full potential of Hach solutions are realized.
What We Are Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)
1. Relevant Trade or Tertiary qualification related to instrumentation and/or process control systems.
2. Extensive technical understanding, with minimum 5 years of technical sales or service experience, preferably in service sales with spares and contracts.
3. Well-developed sales and negotiation skills.
4. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
5. Self-starter with demonstrated proficiency in time management skills.
6. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office; CRM (Salesforce and Servicemax) and ERP (Oracle or SAP) experience preferred.
7. Ability to travel domestically & occasionally internationally, up to 50% of time.
8. Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
1. Water instrumentation, equipment, and process knowledge.
2. Strong applications knowledge to provide a total customer solution.
3. Experience with SalesForce.com or similar CRM to actively manage a sales territory.
The work environment for this position is hybrid & field based. Requires frequent visits to industrial and processing sites.
