Role Overview
This role is responsible for managing the recruitment, wellbeing, development, engagement, retention, and overall support of our Perth secondee team. As a hands-on role, you will work closely with our Perth client solutions team to align secondees with the right client opportunities while ensuring best-practice recruitment and employment processes are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Resourcing
* Talent Acquisition: Attract and recruit high-performing paralegals, lawyers, and consultants (“secondees”) for the Perth secondment business.
* Selection Process: Screen, shortlist, and interview candidates while managing selection and application workflows.
* Due Diligence: Conduct reference checks, background screening, and other necessary compliance checks.
* Job Advertising: Manage job postings on relevant platforms and ensure timely applicant communication.
* Talent Pool Management: Maintain an effective mix of secondees to meet business needs in terms of skills, seniority, availability, and cost.
* Offer Negotiation: Handle the offer process, including salary negotiations.
* Marketing Support: Prepare and update secondee profile documentation for marketing purposes.
* Employer Branding: Collaborate with the Head of People & Development to ensure the client is recognised as an “employer of choice.”
* Data Management: Keep recruitment databases, CRM, and HR systems updated with applicant details and recruitment stages.
People Engagement, Development & Retention
* First Point of Contact: Act as a sounding board for secondees, addressing logistical queries and secondment-related concerns.
* HR Support: Provide secondees with guidance on leave entitlements, remuneration reviews, diversity, performance management, and wellbeing.
* Regular Check-ins: Conduct feedback sessions throughout secondments, including end-of-assignment reviews.
* Career Development: Identify opportunities for secondee growth through new assignments or continued learning initiatives.
* Secondee Care: Maintain regular engagement with secondees both on and off assignment to foster a strong support system.
* Culture & Retention: Work with the People & Development team to implement engagement and retention strategies.
Compliance & Reporting
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all secondees have the necessary legal practice status, valid practice certificates, and immigration requirements (where applicable).
* HR & Recruitment Reports: Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in internal HR systems such as Bullhorn.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Deliver on yearly resourcing plans for the Perth secondment team.
* Enhance the clients presence in the Perth legal and compliance market.
* Support initiatives that improve the secondee experience and lifecycle.
* Build and maintain strong secondee talent pools to optimise assignment utilisation.
* Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with secondees, the Perth secondment team, legal professionals, and the Australia HQ team.
* Serve as a trusted HR advisor to the Perth secondee team.

Qualifications & Skills
* Education: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Law, or Business.
* Experience: Minimum of 6 years in a professional services or legal recruitment environment.
* Skills:
o Self-motivated, positive, and highly organised.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an empathetic and agile approach.
o Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
