About this opportunity
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Team Leader Development Assessment (Major Projects) position. This position will provide specialist knowledge and advice of a multi-disciplinary nature relating to town planning and related matters. Responsibilities will include assessment of complex development applications and other major projects, assisting on planning appeals and legal matters, negotiation and implementation of infrastructure agreements, and providing advice to other departments on Town Planning.
Additionally, you’ll also:
* Oversee Council's infrastructure charges levying (approximately $10 million+ per annum) and recovery programs.
* Act as the lead for negotiations, implementation and monitoring of infrastructure agreements.
* Facilitate post-development compliance audits in conjunction with Council's Regulatory Services team.
* Develop strategies in planning that integrate with the broader framework of Council initiatives and action, and which provide high quality outcomes for the Region and its residents.
* Prepare budget submissions for senior officers and/or Council.
About you:
* Tertiary Qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and demonstratable experience gained through multiple appointments. Well-developed interpersonal and demonstratable leadership skills.
* Highly developed experience with effective communication across diverse clients, problem solving, delegation report writing, with research and co-ordination skills.
* Proven ability to provide expert guidance in a dynamic and politically sensitive environment. Ability to provide constructive feedback and critical evaluation of successes and failures.

This position comes with an annual salary range $107,736.62 to $114,075.84 per annum plus up to 13% employer superannuation contribution and a variety of employee benefits.
