As a Senior Network Engineer – Unified Comms, you will provide Network and Unified Communication Subject Matter expertise within the Digital Services Business Group supporting the team in planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimising all IT Network and Unified Communication Technology hardware, and communication links, ensuring minimal downtime. You will also support with diagnosing, resolving, and documenting hardware and software issues, providing end-user support as needed.
These responsibilities are essential for maintaining the operational integrity of St John’s organisation’s IT and Emergency Service Infrastructure, ensuring that end users have the necessary tools to perform their jobs effectively.
This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based in the Belmont office.
What you’ll do:
* Collaborate with the architectural group to understand functional needs and illustrate how different technological options can impact strategic decisions.
* Assist with the design of technical systems that incorporate software-defined solutions.
* Participate in hands-on delivery where necessary, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient technology solutions.
* Ensure that technology initiatives are closely aligned with business goals, delivering tangible outcomes.
* Recommend strategic improvements and lead the implementation of technical enhancements.
* Collaborate with Solution and Network Architects to support troubleshooting to resolve issues & produce appropriate design and technical documentation for deployment and integration of new systems.
* Responsible for providing CISCO Unified Communication SME into technology roadmap.
What you’ll need:
* Certifications/ Diploma in Security or ICT disciplines.
* CCNP/CCIE or willingness to obtain certification, CISCO Unified Communications specialty desirable.
* 10 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including design and deployment and service management.
* Experience in the technical delivery of projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
* Proven capability to guide the transition from legacy systems to modern, agile platforms, enhancing efficiency and business agility.
