As a member of the Automation Team at Novartis Austria you will be working in a world-class innovative and fully-automated manufacturing plant, supporting the manufacture of complex biological molecules in both an innovative and cost-efficient manner. As a result of your efforts, you will play a key role in delivering medications to patients and increasing access to life-saving treatments for those in greatest need.
About the Role
Main Accountabilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Leading a team of internal and external automation engineers supporting continuous biomanufacturing
* Understanding the continuous drug substance manufacturing process and how it translates into Automation
* Managing resources, budget and support preparation of monthly reports with key KPIs
* Coordinating strategic automation projects and initiatives that provide cost efficient technical solutions and standards
* Defining and executing BioFuture automation system lifecycle strategy
* Representing BioFuture automation at health authority inspections and at internal & external audits
* Managing contractual framework with automation system vendors & contractors
What you will bring to the role:
Essential:
* 5 years of engineering experience in Automation in Chemical or Pharmaceutical industry
* Languages: Fluency in English
* Leadership experience for the management of external resources
* Project management skills including resource planning, budget control & quality
* Proven in resolving software /automation problems & maintain reliable operation of automation systems
* Own and develop automation solutions that are relevant for a manufacturing environment
* Communications skills with the ability to present ideas & solutions.
* Skills in C&Q within the automation (CSV)
* Extended knowledge of GxP / HSE & Quality systems

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is €64,023.54 per year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
