Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement-affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2025 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Human Resources Team Leader in Mykolaiv.
This position will report to the Shelter and Settlement Team Leader.
About the job:
Under the supervision of the Area Support Services Manager, you will be responsible for supervising HR team members, providing technical support and management of area HR in accordance with DRC Operational Handbook, SOPs and guidelines.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
* Advise and assist employees and managers with HR-related issues and concerns at Area level.
* Review Human Resources processes and suggest improvements to Area SSM and Country HR Manager.
* Lead the recruitment of staff for the area, including advertising, preparing long lists, organizing interviews, conducting reference checks, and handling relevant documentation.
* Ensure compliance of personnel documentation with labor law and personal data protection legislation. Interact with other DRC offices in Ukraine to ensure timely and accurate documentation turnover.
* Perform the role of HR User in DRC Dynamics (ERP), including hiring, terminating, and extending employees’ contracts, as well as checking leave requests and approvals, benefits, and compensation.
* Supervise preparation of the timesheets for all employees in the area of responsibility twice per month.
* Prepare and submit required reports on a monthly basis for auditing purposes.
* Ensure that all Human Resources-related records are kept and sent in a timely manner to relevant parties.
* Assist in people planning activities (e.g., ensuring job descriptions are in place for all roles and that all roles align with the DRC Position Structure).
* Accountable for people management of Area HR employees, this includes hiring & firing, objective setting, probation, performance appraisal, development of staff, managing performance, including poor performance (closely overseen by the Area Support Services Manager)
* Ensure daily monitoring of Area HR activities, asses the quality of performed HR function and informs Area SSM and HR Manager in case improvements are required.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have proven experience of Human Resources management in humanitarian organizations, good level of English and computer literacy. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
* Minimum 3 years of human resources management experiences (minimum 1 year with humanitarian organizations).
* Good command of English Language both verbally and written.
* Excellent skills of MS Tools especially Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint.
* Attention to details, strong planning and organization skills.
Desirable
* Experience in managing ERP system.
* Bachelors in relevant field.
