Warehouse Assistant Manager - Night Shift

Position Overview:
In response to an internal promotion, we are seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our team on Night shift at our Thomastown operations. Reporting to the Night Shift Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with coordination and management of all warehouse activities on night shift, to enable our trucks to be loaded for distribution across metro and regional Victoria.
The role is permanent, full-time (38 hours per week) and is based out of our Thomastown Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting up the floor area at the start of the shift.
* Organising areas for picking Dry/chiller & Freezer.
* Registration of picks in the system.
* Picking stock from the Dry/Chiller areas.
* Helping to hand load trucks.
* Ensure transfers are picked, wrapped & loaded on the truck to Ballarat.
* Relief sequencing of customer orders (on Sundays/Public Holidays & when the Branch Manager is on leave).
* Hand unloading the truck from Ballarat.
* Liaise with sales reps on late orders & add-ons.
* Generate paperwork for all the runs picked & loaded.
* End of shift checklist (Checking if stock is put away/ Trucks plugged & at the correct temps).
* Ensure the floor area is neat & tidy for the day shift.
Key Requirements:
Mandatory:
* 2 to 3 years of warehousing experience within the food service or related industries (refrigerated storage experience is highly desirable).
* Ability to read and write legibly in English.
* Excellent interpersonal skills (listening, written and oral).
* Ability to clearly communicate instructions and directions to other staff.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and/or logistics management software.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to follow procedures and processes, and able to take direction.
* Ability to problem solve.
* Able to stay calm under pressure and work through challenges/stress.
* Adaptable to change and work in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities.
* Ability to prioritise, plan and manage daily workload.
* Willingness to learn.
* Experience with an ERP system (Business Central/Pronto highly advantageous).
* Current HR license (highly advantageous).
