Milne Feeds is a West Australian family-owned Company passionate about our product and a leader in the livestock feed industry. We are looking for an experienced Distribution & Inventory Manager to join our logistics department, based at our Welshpool site in Perth, Western Australia.
Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will possess experience in the transport and logistics sector to schedule and control stock movement and generate continuous improvement to ensure successful business operation. This role manages and co-ordinates supply, logistics and materials management, including management of stock inventories across the site; is responsible for physical management of materials as well as establishment of associated effective and efficient practices/processes.

Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the Company logistics to support business, including raw material receivals, inventory movements and outgoing product loading.
2. Liaise with the sales department to schedule and manage dispatch of outgoing products to meet customer requirements.
3. Provide proactive, efficient, ongoing daily communication with procurement and production teams in order to control site logistic movements to maintain fluid operations.
4. Assist to develop and review standard operating procedures and processes for the logistics team.
5. Manage documentation related to inbound and outbound goods ensuring completion on time to required standards.
6. Assist with Regulatory, Industry administration and safety audits to ensure highest level of compliance is met.
7. Promote a strong safety culture whilst ensuring ongoing commitment to Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
8. Manage and oversee all aspects of the collection & delivery management systems.
9. Provide strong and consistent written and verbal communication to senior management.
10. Manage and report on KPI’s.
Skills and Knowledge
1. Demonstrated experience in the logistics industry with experience in production movements, supported by sound understanding of transport regulation.
2. Proactive in resolving issues before they occur with the ability to drive continuous improvement.
3. High level of verbal and written communication.
4. Strong organisation, time management and administration skills.
5. Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills with the ability to delegate and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
6. Problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
7. High level customer service and building and maintaining strong business and professional relationships.
Key Attributes
1. A Degree or equivalent experience in business and/or supply chain operations or similar preferred.
2. Five years’ experience in a similar role within a relevant industry.
3. Proven ability to manage supplier/customer expectations and relationships.
4. Well developed capability to improve and maintain organised logistics functions and the personality to influence others to work within the guidelines.
5. Demonstrated experience in collaboratively resolving issues with both suppliers, internal production constraints and people management.
6. Natural passion for achieving high standards with a strong focus on quality.
7. Preferred capability with stock management software.
8. Previous experience managing a varied group of people, including performance review, management and engagement.
Salary is negotiable based on experience. Applicants are required to undertake a pre-employment medical examination to meet the inherent requirements of the role.
