Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Scientific Software Engineer (f/m/d) to join our team in Bergheim. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing a mechanical simulation application and its tools and APIs.
The application serves as a central data hub, providing internal teams like engineering and external customers with integrated APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and a consistent user experience.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Design and develop advanced program features for our C#/.NET application in collaboration with mechanical engineers and software developers.
* Research, conceptualize, and implement optimal calculation algorithms for complex numerical problems in structural and mechanical engineering.
* Lead large-scale efforts for refactoring to improve modularity, performance, robustness, scalability, maintainability, and extensibility of our solutions.
* Closely collaborate with other software teams to manage dependencies and ensure seamless integration across projects.
* Contribute to a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and skill development within an agile environment.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
* An advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, or a related field, with a strong foundation in mechanical or structural engineering principles.
* A proven track record of designing, developing, and optimizing scientific or engineering applications.
* Several years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex .NET applications; familiarity with scientific tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, RSTAB, or Nodya is a plus.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills to engage effectively with engineers, managers, and external partners.
* Fluent English skills; German skills are an advantage.

Salary and Benefits
We offer a minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement of EUR 52,197.04 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
