Position Overview
As a Senior Casualty Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a complex portfolio of claims, servicing clients across allied health and other professional sectors, within your delegated authority. You will also provide additional support to the Casualty Claims team and the wider claims business, particularly on more complex claims matters.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a complex casualty claims portfolio within our Claims Service Model, adhering to our Claims Philosophy and Casualty Claims Case Estimating Guidelines.
* Assist the Casualty Claims Team Manager with claims advice, coaching, mentoring junior colleagues, and conducting peer reviews when required.
* Support the Claims Legal Services Manager by providing insights into legal suppliers and contributing to legal services initiatives.
* Take the lead in providing feedback to product and underwriting teams on risk and policy wording issues.
* Provide cross-functional claims support, particularly with complex recovery matters.
* Identify and proactively manage claims requiring legal involvement, ensuring all relevant documentation is handled in a timely manner.
* Analyse legal advice critically and provide clear instructions as needed.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills Required
* Bachelor of Laws (LLB) qualification would be great however not necessary with the relevant experience
* Previous experience managing claims within a casualty/professional indemnity portfolio.
* Strong knowledge of law, legislation, and litigation practices relevant to casualty claims, particularly public and products liability, and professional indemnity.
* Advanced knowledge of claims management processes and guidelines within the general insurance industry.
* Solid understanding of insurance business drivers.
* Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with advanced negotiation abilities.
* Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.
* Confidence in researching issues and making informed decisions.
* Strong organizational skills and high level of computer literacy.
