As a development engineer, you foster innovation and develop new product concepts that form the foundation for pioneering projects. You design products that meet current and future market demands and identify market opportunities by analyzing market trends and customer needs. In doing so, you assess technological feasibility and conduct relevant studies. A focus lies in developing new lighting concepts and constructing prototypes, including the presentation and elaboration of customer benefits. Knowledge exchange within the team and with external partners is a key aspect of your work. Additionally, you focus on the development and implementation of environmentally friendly and resource-efficient technologies.
Your Job
1. Developing innovative concept and feasibility studies to assess the viability of new ideas, considering technical and economic requirements
2. Mechanical development and design of new lighting and illumination solutions, considering appropriate material selection, integration of additional system components such as electronic modules, optical elements, sensors, and relevant regulatory requirements
3. Collaborating with various technology and manufacturing departments to assess and evaluate new and existing manufacturing technologies
4. Coordinating within an interdisciplinary team consisting of experts from various technical and commercial fields to identify market opportunities
5. Excellent, targeted communication and networking to ensure that your creative solutions inspire all decision-makers and serve as the foundation for new lighting solutions
Your profile
6. Successfully completed technical education (HTL, FH, University) in mechanics, mechatronics, or a related field
7. 5+ years of experience in product development, mechanics, or a comparable field, ideally from a start-up or industrial company
8. Ability to creatively solve complex technical challenges and identify technological trends, preparing them for our standard development
9. Clear and convincing communication skills to convey technical concepts and to constructively unite different opinions
10. Highly structured and organized working style for successful interdisciplinary teamwork
11. A learning-oriented, solution-driven, proactive, and visionary personality with the motivation to tackle complex problems with a “we can do” and “hands-on” mentality
12. Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
