At AQT we build quantum computers. Founded in Innsbruck, Austria, in 2018, we aim to bring quantum technologies out of the laboratory environment and turn them into everyday products. For our team in Innsbruck, we are now looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join us as a Quantum Sales Engineer.
Your role
The Quantum Sales Engineer is a new role to AQT and reflects the need to support the commercial team in times of on-going market penetration seen by our modular and full quantum computing hardware products. The role is focused on the AQT modular product line and entails identifying and engaging with customers from within the trapped ion and cold atom communities and responding to customer enquiries; essentially to be a reliable and knowledgeable point of contact for many customers and collaborators looking to use AQT products within their experiments. Further responsibilities will be to ensure that the needs and desires of the atomic, molecular and optical (AMO) physics community (as well as any changes to the evolving market forces) are recorded and communicated to the relevant parties within AQT. As this is a customer facing role, travel to and attendance at various conferences, exhibitions and customer sites may be involved.
Your responsibilities
Identifying applicable customers and arranging communications to enable engagement
Formulating responses to new customer enquiries and qualifying the leads for further actions
Actively supporting potential customers with technical communications at every stage of their requirements in the pre-sales process
Developing relationships with key trapped ion and cold atom academic groups and research institutions
Supporting development and creation of technical documents including case studies, product data-sheets and other key collateral as required
As directed, assisting with the definition and submission of relevant documentation to public tendering processesWorking with key staff members within AQT to ensure product value proposition and marketing communications are relevant and up to date
Your qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in an AMO physics discipline
Familiarity with trapped ion, cold atom or quantum emitter experimental techniques
Preferably, time spent interfacing with customers or working within a commercial team
Preferably, possesses experience in recording work and driving commercial productivity via a CRM
Ability to rapidly understand customer applications and to apply the AQT product to customer needs
Willingness to travel
Empathetic to customer needs, and organizational skills to record, analyse and communicate to colleagues
Preference to work within a collaborative environment with highly-skilled colleaguesExcellent communication skills in spoken and written English

Your salary
Austrian law stipulates that the formal minimum salary of EUR 45 068,38 per year, according to Collective Bargaining Agreement, must be specified in job postings. Please note that, according to your experience and skills, we are typically paying much more!
