Early Stage Researcher - PhD Student (m/f/d)
Project Description
The advertised position is part of a project funded by the FWF and will focus on the effect of 2D vs. physiological 3D culture conditions of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on the physicochemical characteristics, the cargo, as well as on the functional characteristics of MSC-derived extracellular vesicles.
Your Tasks:
* Conducting physicochemical and functional characterization of MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs)
* Contribution to methodological development in EV research
* Analysis of research data and publication of the results
* Tutoring of Bachelor and Master students
* Representation of the research group at conferences and workshops with scientific presentations
* Supporting the research group in administrative tasks
* Participating in the PhD program “Regenerative Medicine” at the University for Continuing Education Krems
* Completing and submitting a PhD thesis in the PhD program “Regenerative Medicine” within three years
Your profile
We require evidence of the following qualifications for the application:
* Completion of a diploma or master's degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related subject (criterion must be met prior to the conclusion of the working contract)
* Profound experience in lab work in the field of Biomedicine
* Experience in analyzing and processing research data
* Ability to work in a research team and to communicate research results
* Proficiency in scientific writing, demonstrated by scientific publications, presentations or a master’s thesis
* Excellent English skills (C1)
In addition, the following criteria are desirable:
* Proficiency in cell culture techniques, preferably with stem cells and monocytes
* Experience in EV isolation and characterization
* Experience in flow cytometry
* Proficiency in scientific writing, demonstrated by scientific publications
* Good knowledge of German (min. B1)
